BJP raking up Amarnath issue for election gains: Gowda
Bangalore, Aug 9 (UNI) Janata Dal(Secular) president H D Deve Gowda today accused the Bharatiya Janata Party(BJP) of raising dust on the Amarnath land issue with an eye on the coming Lok Sabha elections.
Speaking to newspersons here, Mr Gowda said the previous Congress-PDP government in Kashmir had 'mishandled' and 'spoiled' the issue and the BJP took advantage of the crisis to propagate its communal agenda.
The former Prime Minister alleged that while the saffron party had refused to take part in the all party meeting called by Prime Minister Manmohan Singh in New Delhi today, it had, however, decided to resort to agitation on the issue to rake up communal passions.
