Hoshiarpur, Aug 8 (UNI) Activists of Shiv Sena (B) today blocked rail traffic for more than an hour at Mukerian railway station, 55 Km from here on Jalandhar-Pathankot railway section to protest against the taking back of land from Sri Amarnath Shrine Board.
The protesters, led by party's Punjab unit Vice President Ranjit Rana, squatted at the track due to which Madras mail, bound for Jammu from Jalandhar, was stranded on the station for more than an hour.
They demanded immediate recall of Jammu and Kashmir Governor N K Vohra and reallocation of land to Amarnath Shrine Board, failing which, they warned, Shiv Sena would intensify agitation.
Activists of Sri Amarnath Yatra Sangarsh Samiti led by their leader Ram Dev Yadav and District President of BJP Jagtar Singh Saini staged dharna in front of the houses of MP Avinash Rai Khanna and members of Rajya Sabha Dharampal Sabharwal (Congress) and Varinder Singh Bajwa (SAD-B) in support of the above said demand.
They urged all the members of Lok Sabha and Rajya Sabha to raise their voice in their respective houses to get the land re-allotted to the Shrine board.
