Terrorists can attack on Independence Day: Jaiswal
Mirzapur, Aug 8 (UNI) Union Minister of State for Home Sriprakash Jaiswal today said all the states have been put under high alert for the Independence Day.
''The anti-national elements can go up to any extent to disturb peace of the country, especially on the patriotic day of August 15,'' Mr Jaiswal said addressing newsmen here.
Therefore, an alert has been sounded in all the states to foil any such terrorist move, he added.
Besides, the intelligence agencies have been asked to be extra cautious and tighten their network.
The union minister further said that the state governments were responsible to tackle terrorist activities in their respective states.
It depends on the states how they fight the growing menace by the security available from the Centre, he said.
The country is under more threat in wake of the recent serial blasts in Bangalore and Ahmedabad.
