Sonia to decide on any action against Rane : Kadam
New Delhi, Aug 8 (UNI) Maharashtra Acting PCC Chief Patangrao Kadam today said any decision regarding disciplinary action against State Revenue Minister Narayan Rane for openly criticising the cabinet decision on the Videocon land issue would be taken only by Congress President Sonia Gandhi.
He was replying to a question if the Party envisaged any disciplinary action against Mr Rane who has been at loggerheads with Maharashtra Chief Minister Vilasrao Deshmukh following cabinet decision to allot 100 acres of land to Videocon in Navi Mumbai to set up its LCD manufacturing unit.
Talking to UNI, Mr Kadam said Ms Gandhi was expected to return here on August 10 from Beijing where she has gone to attend the opening ceremony of the Olympic Games. "Any decision on disciplinary action will be taken only by Ms Gandhi." Mr Kadam, who yesterday met AICC General Secretary Margaret Alva along with Mr Rane, said the action of Mr Rane had raised the issue of collective responsibility and secrecy of Council of Ministers.
However, a final view on this could be taken only by Ms Gandhi, he said.
