Security tightened for I-Day function in Gurgaon
Chandigarh, Aug 8 (UNI) With the Haryana government deciding to hold the state-level function on the Independence Day in Gurgaon, the district police has sounded an alert and taken security precautions to avoid any mishap.
Joint Commissioner of Police Manjit Singh Ahlawat today said the Gurgaon police had taken precautionary measures for the safety of the public.
He said the Gurgaon Police had started carrying out intensive checking of vehicles throughout the district under the supervision of ACPs, Inspectors and SHOs. The checking was reviewed by DCPs concerned at their personal level on daily basis.
He said all parking contractors had been directed that all vehicles including cars, scooters and motorcycles, bicycles should be thoroughly checked before these were parked in parking places.
All shopping mall owners, cyber cafes and those of important buildings had been asked to instal CCTV cameras with recording facility at all entry and exit point for monitoring suspicious activities. ''They have been asked to locate surveillance cameras at appropriate places like underground parkings, electricity contorls, AC Plants and Gensets Sites in buildings,'' he added.
