RPF constable interrogated for hoax call
Bikaner, Aug 8 (UNI) A Jodhpur-based Railway Protection Force (RPF) head constable was interrogated by the GRP authorities in connection with a bomb hoax call reportedly made from his mobile phone yesterday, police said today.
Police Circle Officer, Murlidhar Kiradu said initial investigation had found that the call received at a STD PCO outside the Bikaner railway station yesterday afternoon was made from the mobile phone of RPF, Jodhpur Head Constable.
The caller had threatened to blow off the Howrah bound Jodhpur-Bikaner-Howrah superfast train which leaves Bikaner in the evening.
The Police and Railway Safety Commission officials had carried thorough search in the train and at the station area but no explosive was found.
This led to delayed departure of the train, Mr Kiradu said.
Now, the head constable concerned was being interrogated and the investigations were on, he added.
