NMCE launches Dec-2008 contracts in guar seed, turmeric

Ahmedabad, Aug 8 (UNI) The National Multi-Commodity Exchange (NMCE) today has launched new series for futures contracts in guar seed and turmeric with effect from August 11.

The new series in guar seed and turmeric, called December-2008 contracts, will expire on December 20, while the delivery period for both the commodities will begin on December 17, an NMCE release said.

The delivery centre for guar seed is at Deesa (Gujarat) and for turmeric at Central Warehousing Corporation (CWC) warehouse at Erode (Tamil Nadu) and additional delivery centre at Nizamabad (Andhra Pradesh).

At present, NMCE is running futures contracts in about 90 series in 25 commodities, notably pepper, castor seed, mustard/rape seed, jute sacking, isabgol seed (psyllium), copra and non-ferrous base metals.
