Kolhapur, Aug 8 (UNI) Maharashtra deputy chief minister R R Patil today said the narco test only gives some direction in the investigation.
Talking to reporters here, Mr Patil, who holds Home portfolio, said to initiate action against anyone as per narco test report was not permissible.
He made this observation while referring to the statement given by the arrested naxalite Arun Pereira, who had reportedly stated during the narco test that the Shiv Sena gave financial help to the naxalites.
Replying to another question, he said the dispute between chief minister Vilasrao Deshmukh and revenue minister Narayan Rane, who tendered his resignation to the high officials of the Congress party, was an internal matter of the party.
Refuting Mr Rane's charges that the Congress-NCP led government was functioning for the good of society, Mr Patil said the state government was working in right directions for the welfare of the people.
He hoped that the internal bickering within the Congress will end early.
