Amritsar, Aug 8 (UNI) A group of 20 to 25 miscreants smashed the glass panes of a theatre here after failing to disrupt the first show of the Akshay Kumar-Katrina Kaif starrer, ''Singh is King'' in the holy city this morning.

According to police sources, the miscreants, some of them armed with swords tore posters of the film outside the theatre and smashed the glass panes after the police did not permit them to enter the hall where the film was being screened. The police chased them away and later took into custody five of them, including their leader Gurjinder Singh.

All the five were arrested under sections 452, 427, 148, 149 and 120-B of the IPC. The case was registered at the Civil Lines police station.

The miscreants, who were protesting against the screening of the film belonged to an insignificant organisation calling itself ''Sikh Youth Federation of Bhindranwale''. The members of the organisation alleged that the movie portrayed the Sikhs in ''poor light''.

The police had made elaborate security arrangements outside the two theatres in the city where this movie is being screened. The opening shows in both the theatres went house full.

Reports said that security arrangements have been made at all theatres in Punjab where the movie opened today. The film has already been cleared by the Shiromani Gurdwara Prabandhak Committee (SGPC) and a few other Sikh organisations.
