CLP denies TDP charge on fertiliser supply to famers
Hyderabad, Aug 8 (UNI) The Andhra Pradesh Congress Legislature Party (CLP) today denied the Telugu Desam Party's (TDP) allegations in their representation to the Governor N D Tiwari, that the State Government had failed to supply enough fertilisers to the farmers in the State.
Talking to newspersons here, State Agriculture Minister N Raghuveera Reddy alleged that the TDP was bent upon creating panic among the farmers with their wrong propaganda, though the Government was supplying enough fertilisers to the farmers in time .
Mr Raghuverra denied the TDP's charge that the Government had received six rakes of fertiliser after the Governor's intervention.
The minister said the Governor was explained about the present situation and the steps taken by the Government in supplying the fertilisers to the farmers.
Stating that the Congress Government had exceeded its record of foodgrain production in the State, he said the foodgrain production had touched 196.61 lakh tonnes during 2007-08, as against 160 lakh tonnes during 2001.
Mr Reddy said the opposition should not mislead the Governor by making fals allegations against the Government.
