Centre tough on NRHM to Meghalaya
Shillong, Aug 8 (UNI) The union government has expressed its dissatisfaction over the Meghalaya government's failure to submit utilisation certificate on the project of implementation of National Rural Health Mission (NRHM) for last year.
The Centre has asked the state government to submit last year's utilisation certificate on the project failing which it would stop releasing funds for further implementation of NRHM in the state.
According to official sources here today, the state government failed to submit the certificate for certain reasons.
The sources, however, said the government was preparing the certificate on the project and will send it to the union government soon.
Meanwhile, the state government for the first time introduced mobile medical units in all the seven districts to provide a comprehensive quality primary health care service to the rural masses.
Each mobile medical unit comprises three veihcles and each unit costs Rs 36.80 lakh.
