Bhiwani admn asked to speed up dewatering of flood water
Chandigarh, Aug 8 (UNI) Haryana Minister for Tourism and Forests Kiran Choudhry today directed the Bhiwani administration to speed up the dewatering of the flood water in the district.
She also urged Haryana Chief Minister Bhupinder Singh Hooda to make adequate arrangements of dewatering instruments and other relief materials for the flood-affected areas of the district.
Ms Choudhry directed the District Administration to make arrangements to shift the residents of water logged areas to safer places and provide them with all required relief material.
She also directed the Civil Surgeon that all CHC, PHC and other medical authorities should be well equipped with medicines and medical facilities and also provide the medical facilities to the residents.
The Minister said that special arrangements had been done for the flood affected villagers of the Dinod village at the local government school.
Ms Choudhry expressed grief on the death of Santra Devi and her 15 year old son, residents of Nursaar Johar, who were killed when the roof of their house collapsed due to heavy rains in Bhiwani yesterday.
She said a compensation of Rs one lakh each would be given to the family members of the deceased and Rs 25,000 each would be given to the injured. Besides, the Red Cross would also provide a compensation amount of Rs 25,000 each to the families of the dead.
