Army warns protesters in Jammu Kashmir

General Vinay Sharma on Thursday, Aug 7 issued a warning. Meanwhile, curfew has been imposed in Poonch, and the army staged a flag march as a precautionary measure.
According to sources, curfew has been imposed in Poonch town following some incidents of violence and stone pelting there on Thursday, Aug 7. It is a precautionary measure to prevent any untoward incident.
Activists of the Shri Amarnath Sangarsh Samiti (SASS), spearheading the agitation, had on Thursday, Aug 7 forced closure of educational institutes, government offices and banks.
They also indulged in stone pelting on post offices and the telephone exchange
The SASS is demanding revocation of the decision stalling the transfer of nearly 100 acres of forest land to the Shri Amarnath Shrine Board (SASB).
