Mumbai, Aug 7 (UNI) The Vishwa Hindu Parishad (VHP) has threatened to launch a nationwide agitation, if the Jammu and Kashmir government does not return the land that was given to the Shri Amarnath Shrine Board (SASB).
Speaking at a news conference here today, the VHP's regional secretary Prashant Hartalkar said ''The act by the Jammu and Kashmir government is nothing but an attempt to curb Hinduism and to prevent Hindus from going to their pilgrimage spots.'' said Mr Hartalkar.
The VHP also demanded the resignation of Jammu and Kashmir Governor N N Vohra, who is the chairman of the board.
The Jammu and Kashmir government had recently taken back the forest land given to the Amarnath shrine board, leading to a state-wide agitation in the state.
