Two Afghans taken into police custody
Kollam, Aug 7 (UNI) Two Afghan nationals and a man hailing from Haryana have been taken into police custody from a lodge at Kundara in the district under suspicious circumstances.
Police identified the Afghans as Mehaboob Khan and Neek Mohammed and the man from Haryana as Mukesh Kumar.
Police said they raided the lodge on a tip-off and took the three into custody yesterday.
On questioning, they reportedly told the police that they came to Kollam on August five for cashew business. The interrogation still continued with the help of Arabic language interpreters from Thiruvananthapuram.
''Though the Afghans possessed valid travel documents, their authenticity are being verified,'' police added.
The lodge employees were also questioned for not giving information to the police about the foreign nationals staying there.
