Punjab Police seize Rs 9 lakh fake currency
Amritsar, Aug 7 (UNI) The Punjab Police today seized Rs 9 lakh counterfeit Indian currency notes and arrested one person in this connection.
Official sources said that the seizure was made during a joint operation launched by the Special Narcotics Cell and counter Intelligence Cell of the state police.
During the operation, Darbara Singh, a resident of Wan Tara Singh village in Tarn Taran district was intercepted and a bag containing the counterfeit currency was seized. The operation was conducted in the area under the jurisdiction of Tarn Taran sadar police station.
A case in this connection has been registered and further investigations are on, sources stated.
