Precious metals fall: Bombay Bullion Assn
Mumbai, Aug 7: A downward trend was witnessed for the third consecutive day, with Silver declining by Rs 65 per kg and gold by Rs 40 per ten gm, on lack of demand, traders at the Bombay Bullion Association said. Silver opened at Rs 23,925 per kg, while gold at Rs 12,040 per ten gm.
Though downward trend was seen in domestic market, a mixed trend was observed in international market, as gold edged up to USD 880.60/881.75 an ounce from USD 878.70/879.90, while silver was down to USD 16.55/16.61 an ounce from USD 16.51/16.57 late in New York, Singapore market report said.
Following were the opening domestic spot rates: Silver (per kg) 999 fineness grade: Rs 23,925 Gold (per 10 gm): 99.5 purity standard mint: Rs 12,040 99.9 purity pure gold: Rs 12,105.
