Hyderabad, Aug 7 (UNI) The sleuths of Commissioner's Task Force Central Zone Team today apprehended one person at Indira Nagar, who was intending to dispose a stolen idol and seized Matha idol from his possession.
Police said the accused Sura Laxminarayana, native of Guntur district. In the year 1980, he came to Hyderabad in search of job and worked in bread factories and used to move to various places for sale of breads and he used to stay at Dormitory's (Lodges) whenever he visits Hyderabad.
In the last week of July 2008, he went to Bidar and committed theft of one Matha Idol resembling a gold idol from a temple and returned to Hyderabad with an intention to sell the idol to any needy customer for an amount of Rs 10 Lakhs.
The accused and the seized property are handed over to Banjara Hills police station.
