New Delhi, Aug 7 (UNI) Light rains today brought some coolness in the air in Delhi, providing Delhiites some respite from humid weather conditions.
At about 0900 hrs this morning, the Capital city was hit by a short burst of heavy showers. The showers, which followed a heavily overcast sky since morning, brought down the maximum temperature by several degrees, from 34.8 Deg Celsius yesterday, to 30.2 Degrees Celsius, four degrees below normal.
The minimum was also recorded one degree below normal at 25.6 Degree C.
Though only traces of rainfall were recorded till 1730 hours, , it neverthless brought coolness in the air in the city despite the humidity prevailing at a high level of 97 per cent.
The Met office has forecast a partly cloudy sky in Delhi during the next 24 hours with possibility of rain and thundershowers in a few areas.
The cool weather came after a humid day yesterday which saw the mercury climb to 34.8 Degree Celsius.
