JKLF chief Yasin Malik hospitalised by police

Srinagar, Aug 7: Situation in Jammu and Kashmir region remains on the edge over the Amarnath land row. Meanwhile, the condition of Jammu Kashmir Liberation Front Chairmen Yaisn Malik worsened and has been rushed to a hospital here. Malik is on hunger strike since Aug 5, against the economic blockade of the valley and attacks on Muslims.

Sources said that Malik"s blood pressure has been dropped. He has stopped taking medicines, thus endangering his life. Former Chief Minister of occupied Kashmir and President of Awami National Conference G M Shah visited Yasin Malik and expressed solidarity with his cause, a JKLF spokesman said.

To analyse the situation in the state, Prime Minister of India Dr Manmohan Singh had called for an all-party meet in New Delhi on Wednesday, Aug 6. But, All Party Hurriyat Conference, Jammmu Kashmir Liberation Front and other Kashmiri leaders were not invited to the meeting.

Government had asked all parties to help in restoring peace in the state at the all party meet to discuss Amarnath land row.
