Beijing, Aug 7 (UNI) ''It is a dream come true,'' said an emotional Rajvardhan Singh Rathore who will be carrying the Indian tricolour at the opening ceremony of the 29th Olympic Games here tomorrow.

''In my wildest dreams I never ever thought that one day I will be the flag bearer of my country at such a event,'' Rathore told mediapersons at the Games village after the flag hoisting ceremony.

Asked about his chances, Rathore, the only Indian sportsperson to have won an individual silver at the Olympics, said,'' Well, I have trained very hard for this competition, I will be happy with whatever I get or what ever is the outcome.'' To a query whether the the field is tough this time, Rathore replied,''well, the field has always been tough, it was tough in the 1980's, 1990's and in the 2000s.'' ''The competition will always be fierce at the Olympics, every sportsperson gives his best, it is the ultimate test and honour for any participating sportperson to win a medal here,'' he added.

''I have no complaints about my preparedness, I have done my best and I think I could not have prepared better than this,'' he asserted.

He said he was always facinated by the flag hoisting ceremony at the Games Village.

''The Games Village motivates me. When ever I see the Tricolour fluttering and hear the National Anthem, I get goose bumbs.''
