Gwalior, Aug 7 (UNI) Rashtriya Swabhimaan Andolan chief K N Govindacharya today said that democracy's prestige and parliamentarians' image sustained a body blow by the behaviour of political parties during the recent trust vote in the Lok Sabha.
''All principal parties are following a policy of appeasing the rich and foreign countries. The money play during the trust vote made it seem as if everybody was ready to be purchased. I was shocked by the manner in which senior communist leader Somnath Chatterji broke his party's discipline,'' he told mediapersons here.
Mr Govindacharya explained that the Andolan was working on 18 principal points including food, clothing, shelter, education, employment, environment, wildlife, power, democracy's form, political values, foreign policy and internal security.
