Bangalore, Aug 7 (UNI) Former AICTE Chairman Prof R Natarajan was included on the Advisory Board of Mission 10X of IT major Wipro Technologies, Wipro Executive Vice President (Human Resources) Pratik Kumar said today.
Announcing the constitution of a three member Advisory Board here, he said the other members included former Kuvempu University Vice Chancellor Prof Chidananda Gowda and former Pune University Vice Chancellor Prof A S Kolaskar.
Mission10X, a non profit Trust launched in 2007, also started a Faculty Resource Guide for showcasing the innovation in teaching Fluid Mechanics, which is not an IT subject.
These resource guides are to help ''Mission 10X'' trained faculty to act as the base for formalizing the learning approach in respective Engineering subjects.
Mr Kumar said ''Mission10X'' was functioning in five states and it would be launched in a phased manner across the country. ''The aim is to cover 10,000 faculty by the year 2010,'' he added.
Prof Natarajan said outsourcing work in India was expected to be worth USD 80 billion by 2010. But employable Engineering graduates was only 25 per cent now. ''Infrastructure is available in Engineering colleges, but what is needed how to utilise them to produce good product. Hence, through ''Mission10X'', an attempt has been made to provide the required knowledge to faculty and to students so that when students pass out from the colleges they become employable immediately,''he said.
