Shimla, Aug 7 (UNI) Himachal Pradesh Chief Minister Prem Kumar Dhumal today emphasised the need to make uniform provisions for housing subsidy being provided to the weaker sections of society under different schemes.
The Chief Minister stated this while presiding over the 'e.Kutumb' website launching ceremony of the Intgrated Child Development Services of the Social Justice and Empowerment Department here.
The Chief Minister said besides Social Welfare Department, Education, Health, Rural Development and Panchayati Raj Department were implementing schemes under different housing schemes for the poor.
He said the limit of subsidy had been enhanced recently for construction of new houses and repair of old houses of the vulnerable section of society.
Besides Indira Awas Yojna, the state government has introduced 'Atal Awas Yojna' aimed at providing every eligible family its own house in a phased manner, he said.
Mr Dhumal emphasised the need to implement all such schemes vigorously and bring all eligible persons under the fold of such programmes.
Speaking on the occsion, Mr Dhumal also said that the state government would explore the possibilities of delivering social security pensions to 2,37,282 pensioners through e-pension programme in assistance with the State Bank of India to help the pensioners get the amount at their door steps disbursed by the banking officials.
