AP govt increases volunteer wages

Hyderabad, Aug 7 (UNI) Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Y S Rajasekhara Reddy today decided to enhance the honorarium of the Vidya Volunteers with Class X qualification from the present Rs 1,500 to Rs 1,800.

Dr Reddy today reviewed the functioning of the Rajiv Vidya Mission in Andhra Pradesh with minister and officials at Secretariat. The meeting also decided to continue support to Madrasas for teaching English and Maths.

The Chief Minister instructed the officials of the Rajiv Vidya Mission to complete the construction of incompleted school buildings immediately. The funds needed in this regard will be released by the School Education Department.

He said there should be no school buildings left incompleted.

The Chief Minister also welcomed the Open School concept of the Open School Society, an official release said.
