Kolkata, Aug 6 (UNI) Theodore Sunday's two goals against Chirag United today put Mohammedan Sporting at par with Mohun Bagan, 16 points each from seven matches, signalling a tough battle ahead in the Sahara Premier Football League's second leg.

Theodore's goals on 25th and 53rd minute at the Yuva Bharati Krinangan gave him the distinction of being the top scorer with six goals along with Mohun Bagan's Lalampuiya.

Today's play was a prestigious fight for Md Sporting as they were defeated twice by Chirag United in the last edition when Theodore was livewire for them.

Both Md Sporting and Mohun Bagan were now with 16 points from seven matches, but the latter took the pole position with better goal average with 15 against Md Sportring's 13 goals.

George Telegraph are on third spot with 12 points, one point better than East Bengal's 11 points.

Chirag United remained with five points and placed on sixth position ahead of Peerless Sport Club's one point in the eight-team championship.

Coach Sabir Ali lauded his boys after the match and said, '' We have many hurdles to cross over in the league. '' Md Sporting, which last won the league in 1981, had revived hope for a trophy.

Sunday was again a livewire in the attacking line of Md Sporting as he shot home from a penalty kick on 25th minute. He was tripped by Kingshuk Debnath after dodging past Ebami Louise in the box before taking a shot but referee Tridip Ghosh awarded a spot kick.

He struck again after break lathing on to a pass from mid-filed and dribbled past the goalie to shot home.

Initially the referee thought it was a goalline save and rejected Md Sporting's goal demand. But later linesman signalled for goal.
