Special police team arrests 4 LTTE agents in TN
Ramanathapuram, Aug 6 (UNI) Close on the heels of the seizure of a large quantity of electronic gadgets and other goods on July 30 at Uppur Chathiram, near Thiruppalaikudi, allegedly meant for smuggling to the LTTE, a special police team today arrested four persons in this connection here.
Police said the special team arrested four suspected LTTE agents at different places in the district. The police also seized 98 life jackets, allegedly meant for smuggling to Sri Lanka, from them.
The names of the arrested were not known immediately.
A special police team, On July 30, seized 10 Global Positioning System (GPS) equipment, 3,360 pen torch batteries, a Honda Generator, a bundle of LTTE uniforms, five cell phones, 11 life jackets, a pistol cover, a satellite TV receiver, two mega power chargers and Rs 28,050 in cash from a van at Uppur Chathiram.
Police had also arrested four persons, including three Sri Lankan Tamil refugees and an LTTE militant, in this connection.
