Islamabad, August 6 : Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) leader Nawaz Sharif and Pakistan People's Party (PPP) co-chairman Asif Ali Zardari on Wednesday announced that they are ready to impeach President Pervez Musharraf.
According to initial reports, the ruling coalition has said that it will formally announce a timeframe very soon.
The Pakistan government has said that the announcement is one step closer to impeaching President Musharraf.
The announcement came after the conclusion of the two-days meeting, which was held between Zardari and Sharif in Islamabad to look for the ways of displacing all legal and constitutional obstacles in the way of impeachment.
But according to reports, some PML-N leaders are in favour of giving Musharraf a chance to defend himself.
The ruling coalition also said that it has the two-third majority needed to impeach Musharraf.
