Amandeep Johl and Gaurav Ghei tied 12th at Worldwide Selangor Master

Petaling Jaya, Malaysia, Aug 6 (UNI) Amandeep Johl and Gaurav Ghei fired identical scores of two under 69 to finished tied 12th after the first round of the Worldwide Selangor Masters here.

Thailand's Chinnarat Phadungsil, who shot seven under 64, is currently leading the table.

Johl sank an eagle on the 13th, birdies on the 11th, first, fifth, sixth and dropped bogeys on the 10th, 17th, 18th and eighth.

Ghei had a magnificent run of four consecutive birdies from the 10th to the 13th after having bogeyed the third. He made another bogey on the 16th.

Harmeet Kahlon's even par 71 was the next best score among the Indians. It placed him at tied 39th. Kahlon's birdies on the 12th, 13th, second, fourth, fifth, sixth were negated by bogeys on the 11th, 14th, 18th, seventh and a double bogey on the ninth.

Chandigarh's Ranjit Singh carded one over 72 for tied 52nd place and Gaganjeet Bhullar was one stroke behind him in tied 61st.

Anirban Lahiri occupied tied 78th position as he was a further stroke behind at three over 74.

Even though Digvijay Singh ended day one in tied 93rd with a score of four over 75, his hole-in-one on the par three eighth proved to be one of the highlights of round one.

His round also included three birdies, bogeys and double bogeys.

Among the other Indians in the field, Gurbaaz Mann (five over 76) was tied 106th, Himmat Singh Rai, Rahil Gangjee, Arjun Singh (all six over 77) were tied 120th and Kolkata's Ranjit Singh (nine over 80) was tied 136th.
