New Delhi, Aug 5 (UNI) Singapore Airlines today announced the commencement of five new morning flights and special discounts ranging from 60 per cent to 33 per cent on return economy fares to popular destinations such as the United States and Hong Kong from September 1.
With this, the airline's double daily flights will increase from nine to 14 per week, Singapore Airlines' General Manager (India) C W Foo said in a press statement.
The special economic class fares will be applicable on daylight services from Delhi to Singapore, Hong Kong, China, Combodia, the Philippines, Vietnam, Indonesia and the US.
For the US, the special fare--including taxes and surcharges-- is Rs 32,062 (60 pc discount) , for Combodia Rs 29,819 (50 pc), Vietnam Rs 30,427 (47 pc), Hong Kong Rs 28,482 (41 pc), Indonesia Rs 29,819 (39 pc), China Rs 36,455 (38 pc), Kuala Lumpur Rs 26,380 (34 pc), Singapore Rs 22,542 (35 pc) and the Philippines Rs 35,891 (33 pc).
The special fares include taxes and surcharge, and the bookings for the offer can be made from now till September 30, 2008.
The offer will be valid for travel between September 1 and 30.
About the new double flights, Mr Foo said the new services will use the Boeing-777-200 aircraft with a three-class configuration-- 12 First, 42 Business and 234 Economy class seats.
It will offer greater choice and excellent connectivity for customers travelling to and beyond Singapore to popular destinations in South East Asia, North Asia and the US.
''In our 22 years of operations in New Delhi, the current frequency increase signifies an important landmark for us,'' he said.
