Bangalore, Aug 5 (UNI) The recent incidents of serial bomb blasts in the city and Ahmedabad show that extremists and terrorist activities were deep rooted in Indian cities and expose the inadequacies of the nation's internal security set up, Akhil Bharat Hindu Mahasabha Organising Secretary Santosh Kumar Rai said today.
Speaking to reporters here, he said the 'cowardice' by the extremists had to be stamped down by all means. The people should rise against extremism and terrorism and say that we will not be cowed down by these acts of violence, he said.
"The contradictory statements issued by State and Central governments are giving out wrong signals to our security agencies and demoralising them. Instead the government should probe the incidents and equip themselves to counter such dastardly acts," he said.
Mr Rai said ABHMS was of the opinion that these incidents of violence were masterminded by the SIMI and Lashkar-e-Toiba and networked by the religious schools which had spread all over the country.
"The serial bomb blasts and recent revelations about the terrorist training camps at Dharwad and Karwar forest regions show the inefficiency of the state and central intelligence agencies. The explosions at Ahmedabad has the imprint of same organisations," he said.
He demanded that state and central governments should set aside their 'vote-bank politics' and they should maintain strict vigil on religious schools and punish the offenders.
