New Delhi, Aug 5 (UNI) BJP president Rajnath Singh and party General Secretary Arun Jaitley will be attending the All Party Meeting convened by the UPA government to resolve the Amarnath land allotment issue.

The party decided about the representation in tomorrow's meeting soon after receiving the government's invitation. Mr Jaitley also happens to be party in-charge of Jammu and Kashmir which is slated to go to elections later this year.

Earlier in the day, the BJP accused the UPA of breaking an 'unwritten consensus' among the political parties to extend governmental support to religious groups irrespective of faiths by cancelling the land allotted to Amarnath Shrine Board under pressure from separatist elements who never even acknowledged Jammu and Kashmir as part of Indian Union.

BJP spokesman Ravishankar Prasad said there had been no murmur of protests all these decades as governments extended budgetary support for Haj pilgrimage, build Haj Bnawans for creating pilgrim facilities across the country on government lands, organising Kumbh Melas and Tublig Jamat congregations. None of these actions had become controversial because of strong political consensus.

But in the case of Amarnath Yatra, after alloting land for building temporary infrastructure for pilgrims, the Centre and J-K Governments had succumbed to the diktats of the separatists notwithstanding 35 days of mass movement involving almost every section of society in Jammu region, claiming seven lives. The repressive administration did not even spare the lives of patriotic forces carrying the national flag, he regretted.
