Rahul Gandhi leaves Dhaka for New Delhi
Dhaka, Aug 5 (UNI) AICC General Secretary Rahul Gandhi left here for New Delhi by a Jet Airways flight this morning, wrapping up his five-day visit to Bangladesh.
Nobel peace laureate and Grameen Bank founder Prof Muhammad Yunus saw off the young Congress leader at Zia International Airport (ZIA). Officials of the Indian High Commission and Bangladesh Rural Advancement Committee (BRAC) were also present.
Mr Gandhi had arrived in Dhaka on Friday to learn about the activities of micro-credit projects of Grameen Bank and BRAC.
During his stay, he took first-hand knowledge of the activities of BRAC in various sectors and of micro-finance projects of Grameen Bank.
The Congress leader visited Gazipur to learn about BRAC activities that include micro-finance, women's empowerment, community health, education, legal and human rights protection, and rural programmes.
The 38-year-old MP also visited some projects of Grameen Bank, Manikganj district and the bank's head office in Mirpur and held a meeting with its officials.
