Kohima, Aug 05 (UNI) The Political Affairs Committee (PAC) of the Democratic Alliance of Nagaland (DAN) has appealed to the NSCN-IM to lift the ban imposed on the Sumi Hoho and Western Sumi Hoho.

In a release issued here today, PAC Chairman Dr T M Lotha said differences, if any, should be resolved through dialogue in the spirit of reconciliation and forgiveness.

''The Committee is against ban on any civil society groups and organisations by underground factions as the need of the hour for the Nagas is not to distance themselves from one another, but to work together towards understanding and oneness,'' the release stated.

He said the Committee was working to meet all underground factions, various civil societies and the tribal Hohos to bring about reconciliation and unity among the Nagas so as to facilitate a final solution to the Naga political issue.

The PAC also congratulated the Reconciliation Forum for the Nagas for the progress made in the last two meetings at Chiang Mai in Thailand and urged everyone to be part of the process in the forthcoming third meeting at Chiang Mai.

The Committee also appealed to all underground factions to maintain restraint and bring the fratricidal killings to a complete halt as it is creating more hatred and distrust within the Naga family.

''If the underground groups are sincere in their claim that they represent the aspirations of the people, they should listen to the voice of the Naga people,'' the release said.
