Jalandhar, Aug 5 (UNI) Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) supremo and UP Chief Minister Mayawati would take a decision on forging an electoral alliance with the Shiromani Akali Dal (SAD), BSP national general secretary Narinder Kashpay today stated.
''So far we have received no formal request for an alliance from the SAD,'' Mr Kashpay said at a media conference here.
''It is only through the media we came to know of such an offer coming from SAD,'' he said.
Mr Kashpay who is incharge of the party's affairs in Punjab said that a number of political parties have sought alliances with the BSP after the stand taken by Ms Mayawati during the trust vote in Parliament.
He said that the BSP was going to organise a national convention at Lucknow on August 9 to discuss the current political scenario in the country. Ms Mayawati would discussed the policies and strategies for preparing the BSP for the next Parliamentary polls, he added.
