Mosques,madrassas operating bases of terrorists: GoC 4 Corps
Tezpur, Aug 5 (UNI) GoC 4 Corps Lt. Gen. BS Jaswal today claimed that mosques and madrassas have become operating hubs for fundamentalist and terrorist groups in Assam and the North East.
''The fundamentalists and militants are operating from the safe haven of mosques and madrassas in the state as elsewhere,'' he told reporters here.
He claimed evidence of activities of the Muslim United Liberation Tigers of Assam (MULTA) in western Assam.
He informed that there were about 350 active ULFA cadres inside and outside the state taken together, while 76 were staying in the designated camp in Sadiya in eastern Assam.

infiltration,
Lt.
Gen.
Jaswal
said,
''It
is
a
political
issue.
The
army
is
responsible
for
maintaining
