IT-enabled system for rectifying power complaint in Rajasthan

Jaipur, Aug 5 (UNI) complaints of electricity consumers of Jaipur and Kota in Rajasthan will soon be addressed and rectified by power distribution company(Discom) within an hour with the help of modern IT enabled grievances redressal stystem.

A new Customer Management and Grievances Redressal System costing Rs 16 crore is being introduced in the above two major cities of the state for providing better services to over one million electricity consumers, Jaipur Vidyut Vitran Nigam (Jaipur Discom) Chairman cum Managing Director RG Gupta said.

The new system to be operative from October 1 this year would be having three integrated modules and would work through modern servers, cameras and fault rectification vehicle tracking system equipped Call Centers.

The Call Centers to be set up in Jaipur and Kota would be established and run by private vendors. Besides lodging no power complaints online or on phone, the consumers could also submit applications, get all vital information and facilities regarding new connections, meter faults, corrections and payment of power bills online, Mr Gupta said.
