Huge amount of arms,ammunition unearthed,HM ultra surrenders in Do
Jammu, Aug 5 (UNI) Security forces have recovered four kg of explosives during separate search operations while a hizb-ul- Mujaheedin (HM) militant surrendered in Doda district of Jammu and Kashmir, an official spokesman today said.
''The troops of 10 Rashtriya Rifles(Rajput) have recovered a cache comprising two kg explosives, one PIKA gun, one UBGL, six grenades, two radio sets, assorted ammunition and other war like miscellaneous stores at Kunhad yesterday,'' Defence spokesman Lt Col S D Goswami told UNI.
In another search operation, which was launched in Maramat area of Doda last evening, two kg RDX, one Pika gun, one under barrel grenade launcher (UBGL), five UBGL grenades, 50 rounds of AK-47, three AK magazines, three HE grenades, and two wireless sets were recovered, he said.
The search operations were launched to trace the militants in the areas.
Meanwhile, an HM militant identified as Mohammed Aslam(21), resident of Malik Pura, surrendered before 26 Rashtriya Rifles (Kumaon) at Chilli area of tehsil Gandoh in Doda yesterday.
Aslam was active in the area since June, the spokesman said.
Meanwhile the troops of 28 Madras and Corps Battle School Sarol recovered two Chinese Grenades on roadside at Sarol-Keri during road sanitation.
