Former Army chief reviews Indo-China border situation
Tezpur, Aug 5 (UNI) Former Indian Army chief Gen J J Singh today reviewed the situation along the Indo-China border at the Tezpur-based 4 Corps in Assam.
Briefing reporters after the meeting, Gen Singh said, ''The situation along the Chinese border is stable and there has been no confrontation or provocation.
''There had been aggressions in the past and those captured positions remain unaltered. But there has been no future aggression,'' he added.
Gen Singh, now Governor of Arunachal Pradesh which shares its border with China, informed that the Army was capable of meeting any intrusion and regular vigil was being kept at the sensitive border.
GoC 4 Corps Lt Gen B S Jaswal was also present in the meeting, among others.
