Perambalur, Aug 5 (UNI) The ongoing construction work of a combined court building here in Tamil Nadu that was taken up at an outlay of Rs 8.75 crore, will be completed by September 15, according to Union Minister of Communication and Information Technology A Raja.
Talking to newspersons here yesterday, he said the two-storey building, whose construction was taken up around September last year, houses seven court halls, seven court offices, separate rooms for the Government pleader, property room, waiting hall for the public, police lock-up and other facilities.
The project also includes quarters for the Principal District Judge, Chief Judicial Magistrate, District Munsiff, Judicial Magistrate and garages. While a majority of the civil works had been completed, electrical fittings were being provided at the building, he said and added the court building would be opened in October next.
Mr Raja said both the Government Hospitals at Perambalur and Ariyalur would also be developed at a cost of Rs two crore each.
Likewise, Rs one crore would be spent for improving facilities at the Government Hospital in Jayankondam and for the remaining smaller hospitals, a sum of Rs 12 crore had been allotted, he added.
