Advani demands monsoon session of Parliament immediately
New Delhi, Aug 5 : BJP leader L K Advani today demanded convening of the monsoon session of Parliament at the earliest.
Speaking at the inaugural ceremony of the newly built Chhattisgarh Sadan here, Advani said, ""I would call upon the Government to convene the monsoon session at the earliest so that important issues facing the country, including terrorism, Jammu and Kashmir situation and price rise could be discussed."
The Government had earlier announced August 11 as the tentative date for the commencement of the monsoon session but then decided to postpone it. No date has been announced since.
Seat sharing with the Samajwadi Party in Uttar Pradesh, the probable expansion of the Union Cabinet to accommodate new allies after the trust vote and the demand of JMM Chief Shibu Soren for Jharkhand Chief Ministership are seen as reasons for the delay, sources said.
