Jammu, Aug 5 (UNI) Security forces recovered a haul of arms and explosives including two-kg of RDX while a militant of Hizb-ul-Mujaheedin (HM) outfit also surrendered before police in Doda district of Jammu and Kashmir, official sources here today said.
''A joint search operation was launched in Maramat area of Doda district last evening in which two-kg RDX, one Pika gun, one under barrel grenade launcher (UBGL), five UBGL grenades, 50 rounds of AK-47, three AK magazines, three HE grenades, and two wireless sets were recovered,'' the sources told UNI.
However, the area was cordoned off and the search operations were launched to trace the militants.
Meanwhile a HM militant surrendered before the security forces yesterday at Chilli area of tehsil Gandoh in Doda district, the sources added.
''HM militant identified as Mohammed Aslam, 21, resident of Malik Pura surrendered before 26 Rashtriya Rifles (KUMAON) under the aegis of 9 Sector RR, Delta Force 159 Territorial Army and the Police,'' the sources said.
The surrendered ultra was active in the area since June 2008.
The troops of 28 MADRAS and Corps Battle School Sarol recovered two Chinese grenades on roadside at Sarol-Keri during road sanitation.
