Jammu, Aug 4 (UNI) The Bhartiya Janata Party today alleged that Jammu and Kashmir Governor N N Vohra has ''turned Pervez Musharraf'' overnight as he imposed an undeclared emergency-like situation in the Winter Capital of the state.
''Army was deployed in entire Jammu and media was gagged from reporting the facts to the people, which is unethical on Governor's part,'' Prof Hari Om, BJP vice-president and spokesman said at a press conference here.
''Mr Vohra is oppressing in a democratic set up where there is no emergency and at present he is acting like Pakistan President Pervez Musharaff,'' Prof Om said.
The BJP leader, however, said Mr Vohra should be called back by the Centre to restore peace in Jammu and the UPA government, which is responsible for turmoil, should find immediate solution to this burning issue.
''Curfew should at once be lifted from Jammu region and the army should be sent to the Valley with strict instructions to counter separatist leadership including PDP president Mehbooba Mufti and NC patron Dr Farooq Abdullah,'' Prof Om said.
Meanwhile, Prof Om added that Congress is absolutely responsible for Amarnath land row and now the Centre has sought BJP's help to normalise situation in Jammu.
The BJP leader, demanded immediate restoration of SMS service and free movement to media in performing their professional duties.
