Two killed, several injured in Samba firing
Jammu, Aug 4 (UNI) At least two people were killed and several injured when police opened fire on protestors in Samba district of Jammu and Kashmir, sources here today said.
Sources said hundreds of protestors defying curfew restriction came out of their houses and took to the streets outing 'bam-bam bhole' and anti-governor slogans.
The police however, resorted to lathi-charge and opened fire in which two protestors were killed and several injured including three critically, sources added.
Curfew was imposed and army was deployed in the entire Jammu region on the request of administration prevailing tense situation in Jammu over Amarnath land row.
The winter capital observed complete shutdown on the twelfth consecutive day following massive agitation in different parts of the region demanding restoration of land to the Shrine Board.
