Hyderabad, Aug 4 (UNI) Six people, including two women and one child, went missing today as heavy rains battered several parts of Andhra Pradesh due to low pressure off the North Andhra-South Orissa coast in Bay of Bengal.
According to official sources here, the two women and a child, belonging to Jaina village, went missing in Godavari river, which was receiving heavy inflows from the Sabari and other tributaries, at Dharmapuri mandal in Karim Nagar district.
Two other persons went missing in the river at Mandamarri and Jaipor village of Adilabad district and another in Warangal district.
Several tanks were breached in Adilabad and Warangal districts, disrupting vehicular traffic. Low lying areas were flooded with water.
The Meteorological department has issued a warning to Srikakulam, Vizianagaram, Visakhapatnam East and West Godavari districts and Telangana region.
