Rains subside in Cauvery catchment areas
Mysore, Aug 4 (UNI) Inflow into Cauvery basin reservoirs had come down due to reduced rains in the catchment areas.
The water level at the Krishnaraja Sagar reservoir across the Cauvery, near here, stood at 116.32 ft, eight ft below the maximum level. The inflow was 27,793 cusecs and the outflow 15,022 cusecs.
As the rains subsided in Waynand in Kerala, the inflow into Kabini reservoir in the district was reduced to 9,303 cusecs from 20,000 cusecs yesterday, while the outlow was 7,314 cusecs. The water level was 2,282.28 ft against its capacity of 2,284 ft.
In Harangi reservoir, the water level stood at 2,857.98 ft against its capacity of 2,859 ft. The infow was 3,739 cusecs and the outflow 4,928 cusecs.
