Pondy: PPPM wants removal of Welfare Minister
Puducherry, Aug 4: The Puducherry Peoples Peace Movement (PPPM) today demanded the removal of Welfare Minister Kandasamy from the post and reinstatement of Mr Angalan.
Addressing a press conference here, PPPM President Savit said Mr Angalan was removed from the Ministership due to family problem and Mr Kandasamy made the Minister.
With the court acquitting Mr Angalan in the case, immediate steps should be taken to reinstate Mr Angalan, he said adding Mr Kandasamy failed to implement social welfare schemes properly.
Congress MLA A Namasivayam, elected from Ozhukari Constituency who was also the government whip, "was not seen for the last two months," he alleged.
The constituency people do not know the whereabouts of Mr Namasivayam,he claimed adding the Election Commission of India should take immediate steps to remove him from the Legislator post.
Mr Savit also sought a total ban on plastic products in the union territory and said the movement would write to the municipality in this regard .
He also said Actor Rajanikanth by apologising to Kannadigas in the Hogennekal Water Supply issue cast shame on Tamils which need to be condemned strongly.
