Allahabad, Aug 4 (UNI) The Allahabad High Court today sought reply from the Uttar Pradesh government and the UP Public Service Commission (UPPSC) in a writ petition, challenging the entire selection of 546 candidates for the post of Health Education Officer.
The Bench, consisting Justice S Ambwani and Justice R M Chauhan, passed this order on a writ petition filed by Prafful Kumar and 27 others.
It was argued by the counsel for the petitioners that corrupt practice has been made to appoint these 546 candidates in the said post. In the writ petition, it has been alleged that according to UPPSC (procedure and conduct of business) rule 1976, ratio for calling interviews after screening is 1:5, but in the said selection, respondent commission had called 9 candidates against one vacancy to accommodate their favouring candidates, which is the violation of the said rule.
The counsel, accepting for the petitioners had argued that the state government has ordered vigilance enquiry about the conduct of respondent commission in the said selection. The Court would hear the case on August 26 next.
