Panaji, Aug 4 (UNI) The Goa Chamber of Commerce&Industry (GCCI) has organised a one-day Tourism meet in the city on August 8, to draw a roadmap for development of tourism with special thrust on eco and heritage sectors.
The annual meet, third in its series, is being organised in association with Travel and Tourism Association of Goa (TTAG) and Directorate of Tourism, Government of Goa besides the Archaeological Survey of India (ASI) and the Tata Energy Research Institute (TERI).
Governor Shivinder Singh Sidhu and Tourism minister Francisco Xavier Pacheco will participate in the inaugural session, Vice President of GCCI Manguiresh N Pai Raikar told mediapersons here today.
The seminar, consists of three technical sessions, will discuss strategies for greening Goa, developing archaeology and heritage for tourism and recent trends in tourism industry as global economy is reeling under recession.
It will be addressed, among others, by Sujatha Thakur, Regional Director of India Tourism, chief secretary J P Singh, Jamshed Daboo, Chief Operating Officer, Indian Hotels Co Ltd (Taj Group), N Taher of ASI and Saltanat Kazi of TERI.
