Jaipur, Aug 4 (UNI) Aksh Optifibre and BSNL Rajasthan in a joint venture launched a self controlled TV channel named IPTV, the '' icontrol'' service, here today with a resolve to extend it to other major towns of Rajasthan within a month.
'icontrol' is a television connection that allows the viewer to watch programmes as per their convenience with more than 120 channels at their hand.
The latest version of this kind of TV viewing through Interactive Personalised Television (IPTV) was launched at a simple ceremony in the city.
The announcement was made jointly by BSNL Rajasthan chief general manager GK Agrawal, Aksh Optifibre Limited managing director KS Choudhari and UTStarcom vice president and managing director(South Asia Operations) Vijay Yadav.
With this, Jaipur has become third city in India after Delhi and Mumbai to have this service. The icontrol TV was launched successfully in Delhi and Mumbai last month, Mr Choudhari said.
The channel provides an extensive movie library offering variety of Hollywood and Bollywood movies at no extra costs.
The service to be provided through broadband internet connectivity will give its subscribers a wide range of facilities like video on demand movies with rewind, fast, forward and pause options, time shift TV, review of past 3 days programmes and solution to day-to-day requirement through A Tube video classified pages, Mr Choudhari added.
